We have a variety of courses that we offer which enable the participants to gain skills and knowledge to assist those in their sphere of influence.
Standard mental health first aid training
The 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course teaches adults (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis.
This is great for in the workplace but also for friends and family as well.
This course is generally run over two consecutive days but can also be run on two split days or four 3hr sessions. Whilst Willow Training Centre facilitates public courses, we can also facilitate private courses on request from individual organisations.
Youth mental health first aid
The Youth Mental Health First Aid course is 14 hours long and is for adults working or living with adolescents (those aged between 12 and 18 years), however, the course can be relevant for those helping people who are a little younger or older. This course is particularly suitable for parents, school staff, sports coaches, and youth workers.
This course is generally run over two consecutive days but can also be run on two split days or four 3.5hr sessions. Whilst Willow Training Centre facilitates public courses, we can also facilitate private courses on request from individual organisations.
gatekeeper suicide prevention training course
Introducing the Gatekeeper, Suicide Prevention Workshop.
Gatekeeper is a comprehensive two-day training course designed for professionals and para-professionals working in fields where they frequently interact with individuals susceptible to suicidal ideation.
This workshop is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to identify signs of distress, engage in compassionate conversations about suicide, and determine the appropriate steps for intervention and referral to qualified professionals.
Participating in Gatekeeper will give you invaluable insights into recognizing early warning signs of deteriorating mental health in others.

standard mental health first aid refresher
The Standard MHFA Refresher Course is a 4 hour face-to-face course that allows people who have previously completed the Standard MHFA course to refresh their knowledge and skills. For people who are accredited MHFAiders, this course offers an opportunity to extend their accreditation for a further 3 years.
